Did you run on the TM in regular running shoes?

From glidergirl on Thu, Apr 28, 2011 at 20:05:46 from 155.97.238.134

Yep, no Uglies today. Can only do barefeet every other day or every 2 days since the feet aren't quite used to it yet. My foot is feeling the best today so far!

(the "injury" as opposed to the barefoot, just to clarify)

I'm glad to see you back and running with good feelings :)

From watchmerun on Thu, Apr 28, 2011 at 22:24:04 from 24.10.152.45

That is great that the foot is feeling better! I went to Wasatch Running this evening and bought a huge container of Hammer Gel (26 servings) and two hip flasks for carrying the gel during the marathon. It is getting closer! I'm sorry you are going to miss it. Maybe running the last 2 miles will be a nice consolation prize.

Thanks Rachel!

Matt, that is good that you're planning to stay nice and fueled. Be sure to make Teena eat enough haha. :) You'll have to let me know how the hip flasks go. And what about water/fluid? Are you just going to do the water at the stations?

Thanks for your condolances...any time I start to get sad about it I try to think of how hard I'm going to work after school is done. At least I'll get a diploma and license and an income increase for all this heartache DANG IT!!!!!!!! And yes, you too had better do super well so I can live vicariously through you or I will be really mad. Super mad.

Wow, how about that for a little pressure. Now, I have to do well for myself AND you too?

I will just be taking water at the stations. I took (and used) so many gels (8, I think) at St. George I figured it made a lot more sense to just go with the flasks. They have nice markings so I can keep track of servings and hence, calories.

I'll definitely remind Teena to fuel along the way, but she will have to carry her own stuff. After all, I'm her running partner, not her sherpa. Haha.

WHAT???? Matt is not going to carry my gels!!!???? That is weaksauce!!!!

(Actually, that is the main reason I wear a running bra ... to store my gels in it. I have to get some use out of it, right?)

Brooke, AWESOME crosstraining! You are so close to being done-done-done. You are going to wake up really soon and say, "DANG, I am stinkin' AWESOME!!!! Look at all I have done!" Honestly, you are an amazing woman. I just love and admire you so much!!!

From glidergirl on Fri, Apr 29, 2011 at 10:50:28 from 155.97.238.134

Hahaha! Sherpas and running bras. Well I hope between all that you two are well fueled!! :)

Thanks Teena!! I couldn't do it with out my family and good friends like you guys, really, I couldn't. And before you know it, your schooling will be done, too and you will be a PHYSICAL THERAPIST!! Wow. And you know what? I bet there will be lots of 70 mile weeks for you during school. I know you'll be busier, but I bet you'll still be able to run a lot. :) And if not that's OK because we all have many many years of running together.
